The Susquehanna Karate Club provides students, faculty and staff of all experience levels with the opportunity to study Karate. The club is taught by Jeffrey Mann, associate professor of religion, a third degree black belt who has been practicing martial arts since 1988. The club is an officially recognized school of the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation.
Practices are held every MWF from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Greta Ray Dance Studio.
Over the years, club members have taken advantage of opportunities to travel nationally and internationally for training and competition.
"Karate club is a place where I can go learn and workout in a way I enjoy. I have always admired Eastern martial arts and it is amazing to have this opportunity. Both the friends I have made through club and the techniques I have acquired will stay with me long after I graduate from SU."
