Students Promoting Awareness & Responsible Choices (SPARC)
Students Promoting Awareness & Responsible Choices (SPARC) enhances awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol to Susquehanna students and local communities through peer education and programming. SPARC hosts social and educational events as a way to inform students about risky behaviors and also give safe and fun options for socializing. The organization also strives to educate students about mental health issues such as eating disorders and self-injury, sexual assault and overall wellness. SPARC participates in Alcohol Awareness Week, Safe Spring Break, SU’s Health Fair, SU Serve, Self-defense programming and Sexual Responsibility Week.

Student Perspective:
"SPARC, above all else, is a peer education organization. We strive to engage our peers and teach them how to lead safe, healthy and responsible lifestyles to include safe sexual activity, consumption of and use of alcohol, and healthy living in general. Healthy living in this sense refers to one's overall mental and physical health.
I am a part of SPARC because I believe in its mission and I believe in breaking the stereotypical mold that so many new college students try to fit themselves into. You do not need to engage in risky behaviors to have a memorable and enjoyable college experience. Dare to think bigger than that. You deserve it!"
