International Student Services

Welcome to the global community of Susquehanna University!

It’s not easy for any student to adjust to college life. But if you’re new to this country as well, Susquehanna’s Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) can help make your transition smoother.

  • Two SU students talking in the CDSJ OfficeWe assist international students with academic issues, housing, cultural adjustment, work on campus, and many other areas related to transition. We also offer programs and events that will help you make the most of your academic experience.
  • We coordinate a two-day orientation in August that prepares international students for life in the U.S. and at Susquehanna University. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers on practical topics including banking, jobs and classroom expectations.
  • We provide scholar mentoring that matches international students to well-trained student mentors. Mentors work one-on-one with new students throughout the academic year, offering guidance and helping them adjust to life on the Susquehanna campus.

Where do our international students come from?

This year Susquehanna’s international population hails from ten countries around the world. Some are degree-seeking students, while others are here on exchange programs. We currently have relationships with Yaroslavl University in Russia, Senshu University in Japan and Macau University in China.

While our international population is small, we believe that the rich cultures and diverse experiences of these young men and women broaden our perspectives and benefit the entire campus.
