O.McCadney is the coordinator for community development for the Office of Residence Life & Civic Engagement. He is responsible for implementing a theory-based student development program within the first-year student residence halls. He supervises the resident assistant and head resident staff in these areas as well as provides leadership to a first-year resident population of more than 600 students.
O.McCadney is no stranger to Susquehanna University; as part of the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA), O.McCadney interned as the coordinator of summer conferences & event management in the summer of 2011 with the Office of Event Management. Prior to joining Susquehanna University in his current role in July 2012, O.McCadney served as a residence hall director for three years at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Potsdam for their First-Year Experience (FYE) program as well as an instructor for First-Year Success Seminar (FYSS) courses.
While at SUNY Potsdam, O.McCadney served on various committees, including the President’s Committee for Alcohol & Drugs, Relay for Life, and the Bias Response Team. O.McCadney has presented at regional and national conferences associated with his membership to the American Psychological Association and American College Professionals Association (ACPA), including ACPA’s: Standing Committee for Multicultural Affairs and Admissions, Orientation, and First-Year Experience Commission; Commission for Assessment and Evaluation; and the Standing Committee for Graduate Students & New Professionals (student ambassador).
Currently at Susquehanna University, O.McCadney serves as a member of the Risk Reduction Coalition, the University Conduct Board, and the Diversity Advisory Board, a mentor for SU’s Crusader Connect, a certified TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) trainer and adviser to the SU Step Team.
