MLK Service Day
The national King Day of Service has grown steadily since Congress established it in 1994. Every January on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Susquehanna University students take time to volunteer throughout the community. The event honors King’s passion for service and his vision for a “beloved community,” while integrating one of the most important values of a Susquehanna education.
Locations have included organizations such as the Donald Heiter Community Center in Lewisburg, the Golden Living Center and the YMCA in Sunbury, Grayson View Assisted Living, Haven Ministry and Manor at Penn Village in Selinsgrove, among others.
