The Health Center aims to educate students on how to live healthy and productive lives. One way the center reaches out to the campus is by hosting an annual Student Health Fair.
The fair, which is usually held in Degenstein Campus Center, is open to all students, faculty and staff. It includes tables with information and activities from several student organizations, local hospitals or organizations and the Health Center. These organizations have booths with information on varying issues such as women’s health, cancer, safe sex, heart disease, sexual assault and nutrition.
Student organizations that have been involved in the past are WomenSpeak, GSA, Peer education, Students Promoting Aids Awareness (SPAA) and Students Promoting Awareness and Responsible Choices (SPARC), Active Minds, and SU Health Club.
Raffles or prizes often are awarded for the completion of activities offered at the fair.
