GLBTQ Students
The Counseling Center is committed to creating a welcoming environment for all students. About 18% of the students who seek our services are gay, lesbian, transexual, bisexual, or questioning. The concerns that bring students to the Counseling Center cut across all gender and sexual orientations. However, often those concerns are influenced by the coming out process, as well as feelings of isolation and/or oppression that can arise in a heterosexist environment. The Counseling Center has worked closely with the Center for Diversity and Social Justice, and collaborates with them to offer a support group, BGLASS. Our commitment is that all of these concerns can be safely and confidentially addressed at the Counseling Center.
