Active Minds is a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy group on campus. Members work together to raise mental health awareness and educate peers on real life issues that affect college students. The club strives to fight against the stigma of talking about these issues and the stigma surrounding going to the counseling center. Active Minds organizes fundraisers throughout the year and plans events for the campus community, such as National Stress Out Week, Body Image Awareness Week, and National Day Without Stigma.
The club is open to all students – whether you yourself are diagnosed with a mental health disorder, you know someone who is, or you just care about the cause.
"As a psychology major I have always been interested in mental health.
Being part of Active Minds has allowed me to learn more about the
mental health issues that are prevalent on college campuses. It has
been a great experience educating my peers about these issues that we
are all affected by."
