J. K. Van Dover is Professor of English at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania . He has taught as a Fulbright professor at the Universities of Tubingen and Stuttgart in Germany , and at Nankai University in China . He is the author of Isn't Justice Always Unfair? The Detective in Southern Literature (with John Jebb), The Critical Response to Raymond Chandler (Editor), You Know My Method: The Science of the Detective, Understanding William Kennedy, Defoe's World Mapp'd: English Horizons in 1720, Murder in the Millions: ErIe Stanley Gardner, Mickey Spillane, and Ian Fleming, as well as studies of the work of Rex Stout, Joseph Wambaugh, and Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo.
