ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Narasingha P. Sil, Ph.D. was educated at the Universities of Calcutta and Oregon. He is currently Professor of History at Western Oregon University. Dr. Sil is a scholar of the history of Renaissance England. His other area of interest lies in the history of Renaissance Bengal. For the past twelve years, Sil has been researching the life and logia of Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, and Saradamani the Holy Mother. He has already published book-length studies on Ramakrishna and Vivekananda. His Swami Vivekananda: A Reassessment (SUP) was selected by Choice as an Outstanding Academic Book in religion in 1997.
