Gender, Citizenship,and the Causes célèbres
of Eighteenth-Century France

Tracey Rizzo is Associate Professor of History and Director of Women's Studies at the University of North Carolina at Asheville . She is the coeditor of The French Revolution: A Document Collection (1999). Having earned her PhD from the University of Oregon in 1992, she has become a specialist in Early Modern French and Women's History. She has published articles in the Journal of Caribbean History and The Women's History Review .
