About author of Painting and the Turn to Cultural Modernity in Spain

Andrew Ginger is the Chair of Hispanic Studies and Head of the School of Languages, Cultures, and Religions at the University of Stirling. He taught previously at the University of Edinburgh where he was Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies, having been Queen Sofia Junior Research Fellow at Exeter College, Oxford and previously a Graduate Scholar at Trinity College, Oxford. He holds a first-class degree from the University of Oxford, where he was a Kolkhorst Exhibitioner and was awarded the Arteaga Prize, the Ramón Silva Prize, and the R. A. Knox Memorial Prize. Professor Ginger has published numerous articles on nineteenth-century Spain, and is the author of two books: Political Revolution and Literary Experiment in the Spanish Romantic Period (1830—1850) and Antonio Ros de Olano ‘s Experiments in Post-Romantic Prose (1857—1884).
