SU College Republicans - UPCOMING EVENTS

Meetings

Sunday, March 29: The SU College Republicans are scheduled to meet at 7pm in the Seibert Model Classroom. All prospective members, current members and other visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend. Planning for the upcoming "Paint the Campus Red Week" events will take place during this meeting. All members are strongly encouraged to attend!

Events

Monday, March 30 - Friday, April 3: In order to help promote conservative values, we have designated the week of March 30th through April 3rd as "Paint the Campus Red Week" and will be holding various activities and events to promote political discussion and most of all, conservative values and ideals. Each day, Monday through Friday, a specific area of focus is assigned and our event will take place in the basement of Degenstein Campus Center, 11am to 1pm, unless other noted. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, November 12th: "Letters to the Troops
-Regardless of your political stance, it is important to support our fighting men and women overseas. Sign your name to the banner as a pledge to supporting the individuals who keep America free.

-At 9pm in the Shearer Dining Rooms 2 & 3 in Degenstein Campus Center, the College Republicans have invited the entire campus to participate in writing letters to be sent to our service men and women fighting overseas.

Tuesday, March 31th: "Healthcare Day"
-Healthcare has become an increasingly hot-button topic in the American political landscape. Universal Healthcare is a frequently mentioned and debated subject as solution to issues of care in the U.S. Information regarding issues of healthcare will be distributed at the tables between the alotted times.

Wednesday, April 1st: "Rock Bottom?" Economic Discussion Panel
*Panel discussion will be held in Isaacs Auditorium in Seibert Hall, beginning at 7:00pm.

-The current economic situation is dire and in the forefront of the American political environment. The SU College Republicans are proud to host an economic panel discussion aimed at providing an expert perspective on the economy. More information here.

Thursday, April 2nd: "Why Republican?" Day
-The reasons behind an individual choosing to be affiliated with the Republican party are numerous. Come to our table in the basement of Degenstein to write on our banner why you identify as a Republican!

Friday, April 3rd: Who Are Our State Representatives?
-Part of the College Republican goals are to interface with our state and locally elected politicans and to undertake grassroots efforts in order to support Republican candidates. During the noted times, we will be distrubuting informational biographies about our local and state elected leaders.
