If you are like me, each time you see the issue of Susquehanna Today arrive in the mail, it’s always fun to quickly open it, and check to see what is happening with alumni friends from our graduation year, as well as from the years around us.
As alumni, there are a variety of ways we stay involved. Many of you are involved in APAN, and this is prime college night activity time! The fall sports season is also a time that brings groups of alumni friends back together to catch a football game. Homecoming this fall was a great event with the first ever night homecoming football game. An upcoming activity planned and organized by alumni is the second annual SU Career Day. This event, slated for February 12, 2005, allows us to offer advice and guidance to current SU students. If you would like to help out, volunteers are still needed. Contact the Alumni Office for more information.
We are about to embark on another capital campaign, and there are a number of special dinners planned in various regions to talk about the next phase for Susquehanna. Finally, another way to come together is for Reunion Weekend ’05. So, for those of you graduating in ‘0’ or ‘5’, this is our year! I am very much looking forward to celebrating my 20th reunion with friends from ’85! If you haven’t been back for a while, think hard about coming back in June. You will be swept away with how terrific the campus looks, how vibrant the learning community is, and how the spirit of Susquehanna will still be in you. I hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!

Alumni Relations Office Finds New Home
Alumni visiting Susquehanna now have a new destination to add to their campus itineraries: 504 University Avenue, newly-dubbed “Alumni House.” Situated directly across from Pine Lawn, the Alumni Relations Office occupies the first floor of the restored house which was home to various faculty and staff in recent years. The office relocated from Selinsgrove Hall to the more visible and accessible location on August 24.
The spacious office also showcases a collection of Susquehanna memorabilia. While the Alumni Relations Office has always been home to many SU artifacts, Alumni Relations Director Shari Trembulak ’93 Mangels says “These items, like class photos from the 1920’s, a 1976 aerial photo of campus and a copy of ‘Old SU,’ the alma mater, now hang more prominently in the Alumni House. We also have a complete collection of SU yearbooks dating back to the late 1800’s through 2004.”
Convenient to the visitor parking lot next to the Admissions House, friends and alumni are encouraged to stop in on their next campus visit.
