1960 Class Reporter: Larry Wingard '60, a member of the International Federation of Rotary Musicians (IFRM), attended Rotary International's June 2005 convention in Chicago. He took a string bass and an old sousaphone dating from 1943, and participated in a number of musical performances there. He has also been re-certified as a fundraising executive. 1961 Herman Hopple '61 was presented with the Bravissimo Award during the Cumberland Valley School of Music Gala in October 2005. He taught violin, viola, cello and bass in the elementary string instrument program of the Chambersburg Area School District from 1968 to 1998. He also taught string instruments and served as orchestra director in the district. When not making music, he enjoys sailing. His family includes his wife, Pamela, three children, two stepchildren and four grandchildren.
Peggy Walters '62 and Fred '64 Muller retired in June 2005 from Madison School District in Rexburg, Idaho, where Fred was a guidance counselor and Peggy was a special education assistant. Both had previously worked in several Berks and York County (Pa.) schools, and Fred also worked for Greyhound Lines. They are building a retirement home near Duchesne, Utah. 1963Class Reporter: 1964 Class Reporter: Fred Muller '64 – see 1962 1965 Class Reporter: Stacey Bottiger '65 retired from the U.S. Air Force in April 1986 and from the State of Alabama in May 2005. She lives in Wetumpka, Ala. 1966 Class Reporter: Ronda Bender '66 married Major General Forrest D. Tignor, Jr., April 9, 2005, at Derbyshire Baptist Church in Richmond, Va. Dena Jean Sebastian '66 Gentner attended their wedding. Ronda is a church organist and piano/organ teacher in her private studio. They live in Manakin Sabot, Va.
H. Richard Barley '67 earned the chartered advisor for senior living (CASL) professional designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr. He is the owner of Barley Financial Services. He lives in Palmyra, Pa. 1968Class Reporter: Sam Clapper '68 – see 1996, a grandson. 1969 Class Reporter: |
