Message Board from the Alumni Office
Reunions 2006 have moved to Homecoming! Come back to campus
to celebrate reunions and celebrate the fall at a great Homecoming
Reunion Weekend. Log on to www.susqu.edu/homecoming
to see the schedule of events and watch your mailboxes this summer
for the full brochure. We hope to see you September 30th for a
spectacular weekend!
Professor of Accounting George O. Machlan has announced his
retirement at the end of the 2005-2006 academic year from a distinguished
40-year career at Susquehanna. Come out to celebrate his tenure
at SU at one of three retirement parties. The first celebration
will be in Philadelphia's Doubletree Downtown Hotel on May 18.
We will also celebrate in Harrisburg at the Crowne Plaza on June
16 as well as in Basking Ridge, N.J., at the Olde Mill Inn on
June 23. Check our online calendar for more information as plans
come together at www.sualum.com.
Check out the online alumni community at www.sualum.com!
Over 5,500 alumni are registered online, and as more alumni register,
the more of an interactive network the online community becomes.
As a member of the online community, you can: find your long lost
roommate; send class notes; create a personal pals list; register
for an alumni event; e-mail an entire group to let them know your
news; and more. Coming soon are online mini-communities for alumni
affinity groups. Check back often!

Stagg Tribute
On September 9, 2006, Susquehanna University will unveil a tribute
to Amos Alonzo Stagg Sr. and Jr. The larger-than-life-sized busts of
the two football icons will be situated at the Amos Alonzo Stagg Field,
in the Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium. All Stagg-era football alumni will
be invited back to participate in the unveiling and contribute stories
and memories for a planned documentary film. If you are interested in
attending or would like more information, please contact the Office
of Alumni Relations at 570-372-4115 or alumni@susqu.edu.
Special thanks to Stagg player, member of the SU Hall of Fame and Top
100 football team Lou Santangelo '50 and his wife, Ashie, for
their generous gift that made this tribute possible. Additional thanks
to the committee: Bob Pittello '52, Rich Young '54, Whitney
Gay '71, head football coach Steve Briggs and Lou. Richard
Bonham of Lewisburg, Pa. is the artist creating the sculpture.
