1980 Class Reporter: James Moyer '80 , director of bands at Lafayette College, recently had two arrangements, “BackTalk” by Harry Breuer and “The Premier” by Edward Llewellyn, published by Alliance Publishers, Inc. In the past year, he also had two articles on percussion performance published in the national music journal School Band & Orchestra . James maintains a busy teaching schedule in his home studio and teaches music technology at Lafayette in addition to directing the Pep and Concert bands at the college. Robb Whitmoyer '80 was recognized for more than 25 years of teaching music by the Pa. Music Educators Association at their annual conference. He has taught for 27 years at Selinsgrove Area Middle School. 1981 Class Reporter: Robb Larson '81 was promoted to general manager of Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla. He is responsible for promoting and staging events at the Silver Spurs Arena and the 90,000 square-foot exhibit building. Pam Marino '81 Weiss is an assistant director of advancement at Moravian College and Theological Seminary. Benjamin Oxnard '81 was promoted to senior vice president of wealth management at Smith Barney.
Rick Alcantara '82 was selected by the Public Relations Society of America to join its Counselor's Academy. Only about 550 of the association's 22,000 members are part of the elite group. Keith Dolin '82 was named head of U.S. Trust in New Jersey. He and his wife, Elizabeth Bergh '82 , live in Summit, N.J. Kelly Mowery '82 Leitzel received a Kodaly certificate from the University of Hartford HARTT School of Music. She is a teacher in the Waynesboro Area School District, and is a member of the Cumberland Valley School of Music Symphonic Band and the Hagerstown Municipal Band. In addition, Kelly teaches private clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet and piano lessons. Robert Schisler '82 married Deborah Tognola, May 21, 2006, at Union Church in Seaside Park, N.J. Robert is a supervising administration analyst at New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. They live in Neptune, N.J. 1983 Class Reporter: Alfred Murray '83, a 23-year veteran of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and the director of the division of marketing and development, has been named assistant secretary of agriculture for New Jersey. 1984 Class Reporter: Marcie Barber '84 was appointed senior vice president, community office division manager at Juniata Valley Financial Corporation, parent company of The Juniata Valley Bank. She lives in Lewistown, Pa. Jay Feaster '84 was ranked number two general manager in sports at Forbes.com. His team is the Tampa Bay Lightning. Howie “Lee” Hoffman '84 was promoted to senior staff consultant-sales forecasting and revenue planning at Idearc Media Corp., the official publishers of Verizon's yellow page directories and superpages.com. Timothy Quinn '84 is the new superintendent of Elizabethtown, Pa., School District. He lives in Annville with his wife, Susan, and their three children. 1985 Class Reporter: Born to Charles Dettmar '85 and his wife, Olga Soto-Ramirez, a daughter, Allyson, Oct. 3, 2006. They live in Bernardsville, N.J. Douglas Freer '85 was ordained a transitional deacon Dec. 9, 2006, at St. Joseph Church in Toms River, N.J. He is studying at Immaculate Conception Seminary in preparation for his priestly ordination this May. Chris Thorsheim '85 was named the 2006 New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) Coach of the Year. Chris resides in Manalapan, N.J., with his wife, Lori, and four children. He is a partner and chief operating officer of Manhasset Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund based in New York City. 1986 Class Reporter:
James “Rudy” Rudolf '87 retired in 2005 with the rank of lieutenant colonel from active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Operation Desert Storm as a helicopter pilot, Enduring Freedom with the 2nd Marine Division and Iraqi Freedom with the 3rd Marine Air Wing out of Al Asad, Iraq. He lives in Chester, N.J., and works for Smith Barney as a financial executive, second vice president. He has two daughters, Sage and Samantha. 1988 Class Reporter: Gary Daniels '88 is involved in pre-deployment training, otherwise known as Disaster 101, with the Lower Susquehanna Synod Lutheran Disaster Response Network. They will be expanding the focus to a more “all-hazards” approach, and not specifically to hurricane recovery work. Born to Kellie and Mike Pizzico '88, twin daughters, Kirsten Dee and Karli Elizabeth, March 20, 2007. They live in Westminster, Md. 1989 Class Reporter: Born to Paul '89 and Annmarie Oakley '89 Kopey, a son, Ian Mason Johns, July 31, 2006. They live in Chester Springs, Pa. Paul continues to manage Paul R. Kopey & Associates, which provides independent financial advice to trusts, large estates and high-net-worth families. He also works on business consulting engagements with his long-time associate and friend, Associate Professor Emeritus of Management Richard J. Masom, and Annmarie, who has an MBA and develops marketing strategies.
