Class Reporter: Class Reporter: Francis Hubler ’35 Nuernberg and her husband, Bill, live at Friendship Village in Pittsburgh, Pa. There are 350 folks living there ranging in age from about high 60s to 100, they’re definitely in the “older group.” She is forgetful of people’s names occasionally, and she wears hearing aids, but otherwise is in good health. They live in a carriage house (fully-equipped, big rooms, etc., double garage) and they are across the street from the main entrance. They have buses to take them to everything going on in the city, and a great staff! Over the years they did a lot of traveling – Europe, Orient, Australia, and United States, but now they are happy to stay put. They have two great-grandsons, Mark, age 3, and Kevin, age 1. They are the sons of their granddaughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Don Bruey, who live in Ann Arbor, Mich. Their daughter, Nancy, and her husband, Roger, live in the Lansing area. Their other granddaughter, Laurie Smith, teaches in Brighton, Mich. Their son, Bill, is partner in a Philadelphia law firm but in charge of their Miami office.

The heavy water created there was then shipped to other plants where uranium was enriched for use in atomic weapons.
