1970
Class Reporter: Fritz Jellinghaus ’70 was appointed director of development at Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk, Conn.
Benjamin T. Moyer Furniture in Sunbury, Pa., celebrated its 70th anniversary in May and June. David B. Moyer ’70 runs the store with his son, David J. Moyer. His father, Benjamin T. Moyer ’28 founded the store in 1935.
Class Reporter: Bruce Svare ’71, director of the National Institute for Sports Reform and professor of psychology and neuroscience at the State University of New York at Albany, continues to attract significant media attention with his views on the need for sports reform in our country. Recently, with the anabolic steroid crisis in professional sports reaching the halls of Congress, he has appeared on National Public Radio and ESPN with Chuck Wilson. He has also been quoted in the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Christian Science Monitor, Chronicle of Higher Education, College Athletics and the Law, Junior Scholastic Magazine, and School Sports.
1973
Class Reporter: Teresa Rhoderick ’73 Bowers held a concert Jan. 22, 2005, along with classical guitarist Giorgia Cavallaro. Teresa is a music professor at Gettysburg College teaching flute, double reeds and music appreciation.
Timothy Braband ’73 presented a special musical program on Jan. 23, 2005, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Harney, Md., on their newly-refurbished 1929 Moeller organ. Timothy is the principal organist at St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg.
Stephen Marcinek ’73 was elected regional vice president of the Malt Beverage Distributors Association of Pennsylvania.
Stephen Mitchell ’73 is the president of Crider-Mitchell Construction. He lives in Reedsville, Pa.
John Pivarnik ’73 presented a solo piano recital at Mount Carmel Area, Pa., High School in May 2005. This is the sixth in a series of nine recitals he is presenting this spring in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. John also teaches piano full-time and is the organist/choirmaster at Christ Church in Short Hills, N.J. He is retired from a 26-year career as a computer programmer analyst in the insurance and financial industries. He lives in Madison, N.J.

Class Reporter: Diane Thompson ’74 Richardson received recognition for “Outstanding Deeds of Generous Philanthropy” at Robert N. Wilentz Elementary School, Perth Amboy, N.J., in Dec. 2004. Diane has been a public school educator for 25 years and recently celebrated a 20th wedding anniversary with husband Ernie, an environmental engineer.

Class Reporter: Bonita Zpiziri ’75 Ludwig joined the Self-Determination Housing Project of Pennsylvania as housing advocacy coordinator. She lives in Lewisburg, Pa.
Rick Bernagozzi ’76 is a member of I.A.T.S.E. – Local 871-script supervisors/continuity coordinators. His film/TV credits can be found by searching www.imdb.com. He is also an independent real estate appraiser specializing in multi-million dollar estates in southern California.
Nancy Byer ’76 Post is the director of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Lackawanna County, Pa., a federally funded off-shoot of the Voluntary Action Center. The organization is dedicated to placing people 55 years and older in area volunteer programs. She and her husband, Richard, live in Scranton, Pa., with their children, Leslie and Stephen.
John Davidson ’76 earned a law degree from the Harrisburg campus of Widener University School Law. He is also involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program that provides free tax help for people in need.
Ron Roth ’76 was honored by The Easton Area Schoolmen’s Association as its 2005 Schoolman of the Year. He is also the vice president for the association and director of the Career Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Laurie Morgan ’76, live in Easton, Pa.
Patti Berghold ’76 Wills Spyer is a music teacher at Fredon Township School in Newton, N.J.
1977
Class Reporter: Douglas Hornberger ’77 is the managing director of Merrill Lynch in eastern North Carolina. He is serving his second year as chairman of the board of trustees of the North Carolina Symphony. He and his wife, Betsy, and their children, Jennifer, Allison, and William, live in Raleigh, N.C.
Dennis Martz ’77 was appointed commercial lending officer at Community Banks in the Susquehanna Valley Region, which covers Union, Snyder, Montour, Northumberland, Columbia and northern Schuylkill counties.
Donna Pile ’77 Zelno is a quality assurance manager at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., in Vero Beach, Fla. She and her husband, Paul, live in Fort Pierce, Fla.
1978
Class Reporter: John Clutcher ’78 has been employed at Hershey Medical Center since 1981 in an information technology position. His wife, Connie Johnson ’78 Clutcher, works for Lifetouch, a school photos company. They still remain active with music, teaching private lessons and playing in the church orchestra and brass group.
Norann Hohe ’78 Hein is a network administrator for a small accounting firm. She and her husband, Bill, play with the Plainfield Symphony, the oldest symphonic group in New Jersey, as well as several other concert bands. They live in Bridgewater, N.J.
Michele Bugajinsky ’78 Kimmel has been the organist at Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Frederick Md., since the fall of 2000. She is responsible for playing Sunday worship services (two per Sunday), mid-week Lenten services, Christmas Eve services, weddings, funerals and choir rehearsals.
David Lantz ’78 is teaching choral music, music theory and technology, and piano at East Stroudsburg, Pa., High School. His son, David IV, plays piano, violin, saxophone and guitar. He takes jazz piano with Eric Doney ’75. Their daughter Emily plays piano, violin and flute and their daughter Abby plays piano and violin. Three years ago, David started his own publishing company called Lantz Choral Publications. He and his wife, Marti, and their children live in Sciota, Pa.
Patty Sost ’78 Lantz is the principal of the Stewartsville Middle School and also serves as the director of special education for the Greenwich Township School District. She plays horn in the South Side Brass in Bethlehem and the Nazareth Area Community Band. Her daughter Holly is a student at Lebanon Valley and daughter Amy will be starting at Susquehanna this fall. She and her daughters live in Nazareth, Pa.
Mary Ann Pitorak ’78 Miller has been teaching at Shamokin Area School District since graduating from Susquehanna. Mary Ann is certified as an EMT, CPR instructor and a vehicle rescue technician. Her husband, Dennis, is a dispatcher/supervisor with Northumberland County Communications. They live in Coal Township, Pa., with their daughter, Marielle.
Robert Mowrer ’78 received the 2005 Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award for the College of Liberal and Fine Arts from the Angelo State University Alumni Association. The criteria for this award includes distinguished profession and lifework, and dedication to the academic advancement of Angelo State University. Rob was selected because he embodies the extraordinary leadership and achievements the association takes pride in recognizing and honoring.
