Dorothy Turner ’36 was featured in an article in SU’s Perspectives on Charitable and Estate Planning, which recognized her generosity, caring, and dedication toward the music students, present and future, at our alma mater. “We salute you.” Dorothy was a special guest at Susquehanna’s 2005 commencement and all festivities. Congratulations Dotty!
In conversation recently with Marcella Chaya ’36 Turnbach, she mentioned several of her family members are nearby and able to visit her frequently. This is consoling since her husband, The Rev. Dr. Edward Turnbach, passed away in January. We extend our condolences to you and your family, Marcella.
James Grossman ’36 and his wife, Gail, have moved into an apartment (as many persons are doing when they become nonagenarians). Jim still plays golf fairly regularly. More good scores, Jim!
Ruth Williamson ’36 Kelly is still residing in Davidsville, Pa. During a recent phone visit, she told me her daughter lives nearby and visits often. Ruth is alert and upbeat, as she always was.
Leonard Najaka ’36 is doing quite well and searching for the 1936 Lanthorn yearbook. Leonard is willing to pay for a copy. Please call me at 201-891-0793 or Leonard directly at 570-736-6304.
Janet Earhart ’36 Harkins keeps busy and active in a variety of organizations including American Association of University Women, Daughters of The American Revolution, teaching church school (her 75th year ended this May), and teaching English as a second language for P.L.U.S., which is a Bergen County program to teach English to recent immigrants to America. I am presently teaching a young woman from Afghanistan.
It is a pleasure to be your class reporter.
