Executive Appointments

Alicia J. Jackson Alicia J. Jackson
Dean, Sigmund Weis School of Business

Experience: Jackson served as dean of the College of Business and Information Science at Tuskegee University in Alabama from 2000-2007, where she led the effort to attain full accreditation status from AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. She also served as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University, and previously worked for 15 years in the accounting and financial fields.

Education: Ph.D., accounting, The University of Texas at Austin; M.B.A., accounting, University of Michigan; B.S., mathematics, Knox College, Ill.

Deborah C. Stieffel Deborah C. Stieffel
Vice President for Enrollment Management

Experience: Stieffel spent 22 years in enrollment management at Loyola University New Orleans, serving as dean of admissions and enrollment management since 1999. She was a key player in the university's recovery following Hurricane Katrina, and her successful national and international recruitment programs have resulted in a 76 percent increase in out-of-state applications and a 65 percent increase in international applications over the last two years.

Education: M.S., guidance and counseling, Loyola University New Orleans; B.L.S., music, Loyola University New Orleans

Philip E. Winger Philip E. Winger
Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students

Experience: Winger joined Susquehanna University in 1990 and, for 16 years, served as executive assistant to the president, and staff liaison and assistant secretary to the board of trustees. In October 2006, he assumed the position of dean of students on an interim basis. Prior to joining Susquehanna University, he was the assistant to the executive director of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.

Education: Ph.D., higher education and student affairs, The Ohio State University; M.Ed., counseling and personnel services, University of Missouri; B.A., psychology and sociology, Westminster College
