LSAT and GRE Test Preparation At Susquehanna
During the Spring 2008 semester, two on-campus courses will be offered to prepare students for standardized tests that are typically required for post-graduate education: the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), which is required for many types of graduate school programs, and the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
Both courses will cover fundamentals like test layout and design, testing center rules, preparation strategies, general test taking strategies and “test-wiseness.” For each test, we will also cover the characteristics of each section and question type, and we will go over specific strategies to improve scores in each of the various areas.
The courses are open to all SU students, and will be offered at the following dates and times: (Note: All of these are Monday and Wednesday nights).
GRE Course: 7:00 – 9:00, March 10, 12, 17, 19 (Steele 008)
LSAT Course: 7:00 – 9:00, March 31, April 2, 7, 9 (Steele 008)
A commercial test preparation manual will be required for each class; the cost of the manual will be approximately $30.
The courses will be taught by Professor David Schwieder from the Political Science department. Prof. Schwieder has previously written test questions for the American College Testing Service, and he has worked as a private test preparation tutor.
If students are interested in either course, they can email Dr. Schwieder at schwieder@susqu.edu.
