Writing Tutors
Julia Armstrong is a senior psychology major from Gettysburg, Pa. This is her first year working as writing center tutor. She also plays the violin in the University Orchestra and serves as the vice president for ShUmanitarians. When she is not in class, working, or involved in campus organizations, Julia enjoys reading nonfiction and poetry, talking with friends, and sipping tea.
Heather Cobun is a sophomore journalism major from Eldersburg, Maryland. This is her first year tutoring in the Writing Center, and she also works in the Degenstein computer lab. She is involved in stadium band, the Honors Program, and is the assistant Living and Arts Editor and a news writer for The Crusader. During the summer she interned at The Carroll County Times, her local daily newspaper. In her free time she drinks too much coffee, watches too much television, and gets too excited about Ravens football.
Cailin Kehoe is a senior English major with a Writing and Anthropology minor. This will be Cailin's third year tutoring at the Writing Center. She currently has an internship with Modern Language Studies, a national literary magazine based on campus, and is also co-editor of Transformations, the English Department's literary magazine.
Rachel Konopacki
Allison Martin is a senior from Mechanicsburg, Pa. She is a public relations and German double major with a minor in political science. This is her first year working at the writing center. She is co-editor of the Forum page of The Crusader, Susquehanna's student newspaper. Allison also serves as the secretary of Lutheran Student Movement and works as a German tutor.
Emily Maurer is a senior English-Secondary Education from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. This is her third year working at the writing center. Emily is preparing to student teach high school English in the spring at Selinsgrove Area High School. In addition, Emily is involved on campus with the Honors Program, Symphonic Band, Arts Alive!, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and multiple honor societies. When not involved with work or academics, Emily enjoys traveling, photography, green tea lattes, reading children's literature, being with her friends, and playing with her family's two dachsunds.
Matt McDonald is a theatre major. He would like to build his resume with a list of increasingly more reputable companies in order to find success as an actor. In addition, he would like to write plays in his free time in the hopes of staging them at a playhouse. Matt's is involved with many organizations: Fraternity Education Officer, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America; Member of Alpha Psi Omega, National Honorary Dramatic Fraternity; and Supreme Dietary Expert and Master Chef, Epsilon Alpha Tau, National Gastronomical Fraternity.
Caitlin Newman is a Junior double major in business administration and religion. She is in involved in Lutheran Student Movement, Pre-Sem, and Students in Free Enterprise. Her favorite color is torquise and she's never eaten sushi.
Alyse Oldakowski
Frederick Rombouts is a senior communications major and music technology minor from Loretto, PA. This is his first year working for the S.U. Writing Center. He is also treasurer of the S.U. Karate Club, and he works for the music department as a concert recording technician. In the short term after graduating, he hopes to attend the U.S. Navy's Officer Candidate School and become a naval aviator. However, one day, he hopes to find that "ideal job" -- maybe something like a screenwriter -- which would use his major, minor, and interests in producing and combining artistic media such as film, writing, music.
Jessica Sprenkle is from York, Pa., and is a senior journalism major with a minor in political science. She is currently editor in chief of The Crusader, Susquehanna's student newspaper. She is also a copyediting intern at the Daily Item in Sunbury, Pa., and works for the Selinsgrove Library. During the summer, she interned with the communications office of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. On the rare occasion that she has spare time, Jessica likes to relax with her friends and family, watch movies, listen to music and pay attention to the news.
Cory Wyman is a senior English major with a Writing minor. This will be Cory's third year tutoring at the Writing Center. On campus she is active in the English department and has served as editor of Transformations, the department's literary magazine. She also currently has an internship with Modern Language Studies, a national literary magazine based on campus.
Allison Zell is a senior Early Childhood and Elemenatry Education major with a concentration in Psychology from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She will be teaching 3rd grade in the spring at Liberty Valley Elementary school in Danville. This will be Allison's third year tutoring at the Writing Center. Also on campus, Allison serves as treasurer of the education honor society, Kappa Delta Pi, and secretary of ShUmanitarians.
