Page Guidelines: Color
Since the school colors are a valuable part of Susquehanna University's heritage and spirit, official web colors have been chosen to represent Susquehanna's maroon and orange. Both have been carefully selected to maintain the spirit of the colors, yet make them useable. Susquehanna's school colors often work best as accent colors for web pages.
In addition to the school colors, the following colors have been incorporated into the University Web site and media. The use of these colors on your web page is recommended.
When selecting foreground (text) and background colors, be sure the text does not become hidden or hard to read. As a rule of thumb, a darker background color requires a lighter text color and a lighter background requires a darker text color. White (FFFFFF) is not recommended for use as a text color and black (000000) is not to be used as a background color.
You can also use other colors, many of which are featured in the Web Central Web Safe Color Palette. When selecting colors for your web pages, make sure that all colors complement each other favorably.
If you have any questions about colors for University web pages, please send an email to the Webmaster or call 570-372-4348.
