- Microsoft FrontPage
- Microsoft Expression Web Designer
- Netscape Composer
When used to edit Web pages, some of these software packages may create Web pages that are not cross platform compliant, cross browser compliant, or W3C standards compliant, and are nearly impossible to troubleshoot. Some of these software packages also significantly contribute to the broken links and images on the Susquehanna University Web site. In some cases, problems caused by some of these software packages will result in Web pages not being in compliance with the Web Publishing Policies and the Web page guidelines. Word and other Microsoft packages in particular utilize features and capabilities that are not compatible with our Web environment. The Office of Information Technology strongly encourages you to use the supported Web page editor listed above.
