What is WomenSpeak?

There are three main facets of WomenSpeak: the organization itself, the Women's Studies House, and the Women's Resource Center. WomenSpeak is a member of Diversity Counceil and SGA at Susquehanna and works to foster a safe, egalitarian environment in which students may find an outlet for their gender or feminist related concerns. We help raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence, safety measures on campus and acceptance of people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Essentially a feminist organization, we participate in causes and activities that promote gender equality. We seek to break down stereotypes and to educate those around us about how gender affects our society.

The House

The Women's Studies House is located at 402 University Avenue and functions as academic housing for women's studies minors, as well as project housing for WomenSpeak members. Receptions and special events for both WomenSpeak functions and the Women's Studies Department are held there. It is also a safe-haven for any student who needs a place to stay or feels that he or she has nowhere else to turn with a problem. Our door is always open. (You really don't need to ring the doorbell. Really.)

The Women's Resource Center

The WRC is located in the Women's Studies House (402 University Avenue). It's stocked with books, magazines, phamplets and tons of other information for all your woman-related needs.
