The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation was founded in 1954. Through our Foundation, ZTA has adopted Breast Cancer Education and Awareness as our national philanthropy.

In February 2004, the ZTA Foundation was pleased to announce that THINK-PINK!® became a registered trademark of ZTA with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This is now the umbrella for all of our breast cancer education and awareness projects.

Zetas work with the NFL to share information on breast cancer. To date, ZTA chapters have worked with more than a dozen teams to participate in the ZTA THINK-PINK!® campaign, reaching more than 500,000 football fans across the country.

In October 2004, Zeta partnered with SELF Magazine, Lifetime Television, Stila Cosmetics, Betsey Johnson, St. Martin ’s Press and the Young Survival Coalition, to support the book Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy by Geralyn Lucas and the message of early detection through Courage Nights and numerous events across the country.

The purpose of the Courage Nights is to create an empowering environment, unite in the fight against breast cancer and shop for the cause. ZTA was happy to lend the THINK-PINK!® logo and theme to unify the Courage Nights and related events. Everything from clothing, food, beverages, decorations, and store windows was decorated in PINK! Zetas across the country united to distribute breast cancer education materials to attendees at the boutiques and other locations.

Also this past fall, Yoplait and Zeta Tau Alpha partnered up to collect pink lids from Yoplait yogurt containers. For every pink lid redeemed, 10 cents was donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation up to 1.2 million dollars.

ZTA’s across the country participate in Race for the Cure every year. Our chapter sends members to the Race held in the fall in Scranton , PA.
