As we are settling into the second week of the semester, we are providing a few updates and reminders regarding SU’s pandemic planning for your review.

Extension of Indoor Mask Mandate

In following public health recommendations, Susquehanna University is extending its requirement to wear masks indoors. This applies to all individuals regardless of vaccination status. Eating and drinking are not permitted in classrooms or labs in order to keep an individual’s mask fully covering one’s mouth and nose. The indoor masking protocol for all will remain in place until further notice. We will continue to monitor and keep you informed as we are able to update. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Unvaccinated persons, and those who prefer or feel more comfortable, should continue to wear masks outdoors around others.

Updates

The Fall Plan is updated on a regular basis. Last week, close-contact and positive-test protocols were clarified. The Covid Dashboard is updated each Friday with numbers for the week through Thursday.

Reminder of Proof of Full Vaccination and Weekly Testing

Students have until this Friday, Sept. 10, to show proof of vaccine or complete an exemption request, or they may be asked to leave campus Monday, Sept. 13. If you have not already submitted your vaccine information, email an image of your completed Covid vaccination card to covidtesting@susqu.edu. For more information about vaccine protocols and exemptions, visit Vaccinations.

Students who are required to complete Covid testing should report to the Health Center Annex at your scheduled time. Please watch your email closely as there are several groups of students who are in this category. They include unvaccinated students, those not yet fully vaccinated, students with medical and religious exemptions, and groups that are vaccinated but in a higher risk category due to their curricular or co-curricular activities.

Faculty and staff who have not submitted vaccination cards or are not yet fully vaccinated are required to complete a weekly status form and provide a weekly negative Covid test result to Human Resources.

More than 90% of the campus community is now vaccinated. Thank you to students, faculty and staff for continuing to grow our vaccination numbers, and therefore enhance the safety of campus for everyone.
