Susquehanna University Men’s Basketball senior Steven Weidlich is in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend as a special guest of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Allstate Insurance Companies to be honored as a member of the NABC Allstate Good Works Team.

Weidlich was announced as one of the five players honored from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools in February and the actual awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday night. The Good Works team members will be recognized at halftime of the second NCAA Tournament semifinal game Saturday evening as well.

“I am truly honored to receive this award and recognition,” said Weidlich. “I want to thank all of my teammates and coaches for helping me get here. I know I couldn’t have done this without them.”

Weidlich and his brother David, who is also a member of the Susquehanna Men’s Basketball team, made the trip to the Final Four and will be in attendance for both semifinal games and the National Championship game Monday night.

The NABC Allstate Good Works team recognition is just one of the many awards Weidlich received this year. He was also named to two All-America teams, was voted the D3hoops.com Middle Atlantic Player of the Year as well as the Landmark Conference Player of the Year and was also one of the top-10 finalists for the coveted Jostens Trophy Division III Player of the Year award.
