Susquehanna Recognized as Best Athletics Program in Landmark

For the second time in three years and the third in the last seven, Susquehanna University won the Landmark Conference President’s Cup, following the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.

Susquehanna, which ranked second in the standings after both the fall and winter seasons, rallied to finish first overall following the spring season. The Crusaders won a total of six conference championships in addition to eight runner-up finishes. The titles came in baseball, men’s cross country, men’s outdoor track & field. Susquehanna qualified for the Landmark playoffs in seven of 12 sports and finished in the top half of the standings in 15 of 20 sports sponsored by the conference.

Susquehanna has been in the top three of the President’s Cup standings every year since 2008-09 and won the cup in 2009-10, 2011-12 and 2013-14.

The President’s Cup was created in the inaugural year of the conference to recognize the best overall athletics program. It is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition.
