Ben Kopec's research into the effects on melting Arctic sea ice on precipitation finds that as sea ice diminishes, more precipitation falls in the Arctic, which could have major implications for global climate. The study was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Freshwater Research Laboratory Opens

Susquehanna University officially opened its Freshwater Research Laboratory on Tuesday, June 2. The lab, which houses the Freshwater Research Initiative, is funded through a $2.25 million grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation.
