English Degree Leads to Law Career
Ashley Kraige

November 23, 2015

Ashley (Cooper) Kraige '05

I attended Penn State's Dickinson School of Law right after graduating from Susquehanna in 2005. Despite the pressures of law school, I excelled.

I was appointed an editor of The Penn State Law Review and was inducted into the Woolsack Honor Society, open to students who graduate in the top 15% of their law school class.

Currently, I am an associate attorney at McQuaide Blasko in State College, Pa. I am a transactional lawyer: I help people with forming and dissolving businesses, sales of equity and assets, preparing and revising contracts, and various other business matters.

The English department at Susquehanna University prepared me extremely well for law school and the practice of law. In particular, I developed strong reading, writing, research, and analytical skills from the various projects and essays I was required to complete during my four years at SU.

My proudest career accomplishment thus far is being selected as a member of "2013 Foremost under 40" by Pennsylvania Business Central, which is a business journal that covers a 22-county region.
