Gary Fincke, the Charles B. Degenstein professor of English and creative writing and founding director of the Writers Institute at Susquehanna University, will have three books published in the coming year.
Bringing Back the Bones: New and Selected Poems, a large selection of poems from Fincke's 12 full-length collections of poetry, will be released by Stephen F. Austin University Press late this year.
After the Three-Moon Era, a new collection of poems, will be published in early 2016. The volume includes poems that appeared in such journals as The Southern Review, The Gettysburg Review, New England Review, Ploughshares and other well-known magazines. It was also selected by American poet Chana Bloch as winner of the national 2015 Jacar Press Poetry Prize.
Finally, The Killer's Dog, a new collection of short stories that won the national 2015 Elixir Press Fiction Prize, will be published in late 2016. It includes stories that appeared in such well-known journals as CrazyHorse, Shenandoah, Cimarron Review and Seattle Review.
