Study of Economics Is an Invaluable Investment
Jeremy Witter '18

December 03, 2015

Economics affects us all. And that's what interests Jeremy Witter '18, an economics and accounting double major.

"An in-depth understanding of economic systems, which affect every single person and every single business worldwide, is an invaluable investment," says the Shippensburg, Pa., native.

The diverse economics curriculum has opened the door to numerous career opportunities and given Witter skills that will benefit him in any career path that he chooses.

"Economics teaches and employs strategic, critical thinking that can be used in every aspect of life, in both professional and personal capacities," Witter says.

"Whether choosing a life insurance policy, applying to law school, analyzing how to invest savings or choosing between jobs, a comprehensive economics background will improve my decision-making," he says.

Witter was drawn to Susquehanna because of the possibility of one-on-one relationships with professors-and he has definitely found that here.

"There is nothing more valuable than having a professor who is always happy to help, an advisor who is always willing to meet, and a team of campus staff that is eager to be your personal resource," he says.
