Keith Edwards, a scholar and educator on sexual violence, will present the keynote "A Social Approach to Preventing Sexual Violence" on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in Degenstein Center Theater. The public is invited to attend this free event.
Edwards will focus on what campuses can do to prevent sexual violence from happening in the first place. He brings his experience as a researcher, scholar, educator and Title IX investigator to engage audiences in understanding they can be a part of the solution in addressing sexual violence.
Over the past 15 years, Edwards has spoken and consulted at more than 100 colleges and universities on sexual violence prevention, men's identity, social justice education, curricular approaches and leadership.
He received his bachelor's degree in social studies along with an education minor and teaching license from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. He also earned his master's degree in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University. Keith earned his doctorate from the College Student Personnel Administration program at the University of Maryland.
