Menifee Joins Susquehanna as VP for Enrollment

Susquehanna University has named DJ Menifee vice president for enrollment following a nationwide search. Currently director of admission at Butler University, Menifee will join Susquehanna on May 4.

As a member of Susquehanna’s senior leadership, Menifee will oversee a team of 20 in the offices of admission and student financial services, and serve as the university’s strategy and policy leader on all matters relating to student enrollment.

“DJ has a proven record of success in the areas of recruitment and enrollment, so he understands the challenges and opportunities facing higher education in the coming years,” said University President Jonathan D. Green. “His strategic vision and infectious enthusiasm for leading our already successful enrollment team align perfectly with Susquehanna’s mission and culture. I look forward to welcoming DJ and his family to our community and to working with him to provide deserving students access to Susquehanna’s transformative, world-class education.”

Menifee has worked in the field of college admission for the past 12 years. Most recently he served as director of admission at Butler University, Indianapolis, since 2016, prior to which he served as associate director of admission at Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois.

At Butler, Menifee oversaw a $2.3 million budget and led a 25-member team that managed applications for first-year, transfer, international recruitment and graduate programs. In alignment with the university’s strategic enrollment plan, Menifee led successful collaborative teams with the goals of increasing out-of-state enrollment, attracting more diverse students as first-years and transfer students and enrolling two of the three largest classes in university history, in addition to strengthening collaborative relationships across the campus community.

Menifee earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, North Carolina, in 2007, and his master’s degree in instructional design and technology from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois, in 2013.

Menifee and his wife, Anabel, have four children, daughter Kaydence, 12; son Kyrie, 6; son Kelby, 3; and daughter Kelani, 2 months.

Menifee currently serves as a director on the board for the National Association for College Admissions Counseling and has served on the executive boards for Indiana and Illinois Associations for College Admissions Counseling.
