Susquehanna University’s men’s club rugby claimed third place in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 15s Mid-Atlantic South Region Championship Dec. 8 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This was the second Sweet 16 appearance for the team, last appearing after being crowned EPRU Champions in 2014.

After their third-place finish in Raleigh, the River Hawks have concluded their 15s season with the highest finish ever for the program. The team’s success in Raleigh will likely earn them a Top 10 ranking when the 15s national championship concludes in April.

Over the two-day tournament, the River Hawks scored a total of 69 points. During the trophy presentation, Riley Stone ’20 was presented the Heart and Soul Award for Susquehanna after his dominating performance.

When the team returns from winter break, Susquehanna will focus their time on Rugby 7s, where Susquehanna is a six-time national championship qualifier and Top 8 team in the country. The River Hawks look to maintain that record, again, this season.
