Rockefeller Center Tree Has Susquehanna Connection
Rockefeller Center Tree Has Susquehanna Connection

November 07, 2014

Assistant coaches Rachel Drosdick-Sigafoos and Dan Sigafoos-and their 85-foot, 13-ton Norway spruce-made national headlines when a tree on their Danville property was selected as this year's Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

They appeared on the Today show on Friday, Nov. 7, and will attend the tree lighting in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 3. After Christmas, wood from the tree will be used to build homes for Habitat for Humanity in Pennsylvania.

Drosdick-Sigafoos, an assistant coach for the swimming and diving team, and her husband, an assistant volleyball coach, met while coaching at Susquehanna. They bought their century-old farmhouse in 2012 and live there with  their dogs Daisy and Lilly.
