Philosophy and Political Science Major Aspires to Law Career

Tyler Burke '19

February 11, 2016

Studying political science and philosophy is helping to pave the way to a career as a defense attorney for Tyler Burke '19.

"My majors complement each other very well and work hand in hand. The political science portion helps me to understand the everyday happenings of the world and the country, while philosophy helps to examine the more abstract trends that are affecting the country," Burke says.

"Philosophy has taught me more advanced logic and reasoning that is used in everyday life as a law student and attorney," he adds.

While the small class size and location initially drew Burke to Susquehanna, the study abroad program and internship opportunities confirmed his decision.

In addition to his academic work, Burke also participates in the History Club and Mock Trial team.
