Susquehanna University has been recognized by another college guide for its educational value. The 2017 Educate To Career (ETC) College Rankings Index places Susquehanna No. 59 in its list of Top 100 Best Value Colleges. The index highlights the schools that have excelled at graduating students on a timely basis and preparing them for the workforce.
The methodology quantified and compared the records of 1,195 four-year colleges for improving the labor market outcomes for students by looking at:
- The average net cost-The annual tuition that in-state students actually paid (not the list price).
- Jobs and salaries-For each college and major, ETC provides a list of the jobs that recent graduates actually landed, with starting salaries.
- Loan default and graduation rates.
The ETC rankings evaluate colleges based on the added value that they bring to their graduates in terms of the increase in employability and earnings that their alumni derive from attending the college.
Other colleges ranked in the top 100 include Lehigh University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Lafayette and Franklin & Marshall colleges, in addition to Harvard, Stanford and Duke universities.
