Robertson oversees the day-to-day, content-generation components of the office's marketing communications activities. This involves oversight of digital and print content, including e-newsletters, brochures, magazines and key website content. She helps to ensure a strategic focus for university communications, particularly with messaging on various storytelling platforms, and maximizes synergies between digital, print and media relations efforts. She is responsible for quality control and timely delivery of content, and also serves as project manager for a number of communications campaigns.
For 17 years Robertson was director of public relations and publications at Susquehanna, resigning in 2007 to operate Robertson Public Relations, advising businesses and nonprofit institutions. She returned to the university in 2011 in her current capacity. Prior to coming to Susquehanna in 1990, she was director of public and consumer affairs for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (U.S. DOT). From 1981-1989, she served in First Lady Nancy Reagan's Press Office at the White House, the latter five years as deputy press secretary to the First Lady.
