On Oct. 26, 2019, during Homecoming–Reunion Weekend, donors and leadership volunteers gathered in the Admission House to celebrate Milestones, the annual event that recognizes members of the Susquehanna Society, Lifetime Giving Society, John App Circle, President’s Associates, Benjamin Kurtz Society, Susquehanna Loyalty Society, Champions for Growth and leadership volunteers.

For those who could not attend, we missed you and hope you will be able to join us next year.  We also hope you will enjoy seeing photos from the event — a recap of the celebration in honor of your loyal support.

This year’s university theme is the Power of Stories. Throughout Milestones, students shared powerful stories about their educational experience and thanked donors for the scholarships, programs, internships and opportunities that impacted their lives and prepared them for the future.

Sherri Hufstedler ’20, Marketing

"I have been the benefactor of many of the programs that alumni graciously and generously support. Last year I attended the Woman’s Leadership Symposium in New York and witnessed the celebration and naming of the Signe S. Gates and Dawn G. Mueller Women's Leadership Symposium. I learned there is an amazing network of female leaders and generous donors who care deeply about our success. I attended the Breakthrough trips to New York, Newark and Philadelphia to learn first-hand from alumni what it takes to be successful in the work world. I traveled abroad in France through the GO program and was fully immersed in the French culture while living with my host family. I want to say thank you for all your generous and thoughtful support you have given me personally and also the vision you have to make the future better for all Susquehanna students.”

Donovan Gayles ‘20, Political Science and Public Policy

"Susquehanna is place where students will not only come to be challenged but learn how to overcome those challenges. The experiences and opportunities for leadership, growth, and development offered here are truly unmatched. To our donors, thank you. Truly, because without your support many of the programs we have would not be possible. Thank you for giving our students scholarships, providing internships, donating to our athletes and Greek-Life, paying for conferences and supplemental trainings, and funding our clubs and organizations. Most importantly thank you for continuing to put Susquehanna students first and in the best position to succeed. I encourage you to keep supporting Susquehanna, so students after you can do the same."

What is Milestones?

Milestones is a celebration of gratitude for what is made possible through the leadership donors and volunteers who give their time, talent and treasure to advance Susquehanna’s mission. It is also an opportunity to thank alumni and friends of the university, for the transformative experiences they make possible for our students. Because of their loyalty, we are able to provide the programs and services that fuel student success and make a Susquehanna education more impactful than ever.
