New York City-based modern dance company Parsons Dance will kick off the new season of Susquehanna University's Artist Series with a performance on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Degenstein Center Theater.
World-renowned for their contemporary American dance, Parsons Dance performances are accessible and enriching to diverse audiences. Founded in 1985 by artistic director David Parsons along with Howell Binkley, a Tony-award winning lighting designer who has worked on many Broadway shows, the group is known for its energized, athletic ensemble work.
Parsons Dance has performed in more than 400 cities, 30 countries and five continents, gaining a reputation as one of the world's foremost modern dance companies. The company has collaborated with many artists, including Annie Leibovitz and Donna Karan.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and $5 for non-Susquehanna students. The box office, located in the Degenstein Center Theater lobby, is open noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, while classes are in session. Tickets can be purchased in person or by calling 570-372-ARTS (2787).
