Crusaders Capture Two Fall Championships
Susquehanna University saw two of its fall teams bring home Landmark Conference titles in their respective sports.
The men's cross country team brought home its Landmark championship as the Crusaders captured the 2013 title in dominant fashion on Nov. 2 in Washington, D.C. Susquehanna won with 22 points, the lowest point total in conference history and two points better than Susquehanna's 24 points in 2009, the last time the team won the title.
Including this fall's championship, the team has won five of the seven titles in Landmark Conference history. Four runners were named to the Landmark Conference First-Team while two more earned Second-Team accolades.
The second fall championship belonged to the men's soccer team, which captured back-to-back conference titles for the first time in program history. The Crusaders won this year's title with a 1-0 blanking of Juniata on Nov. 9 at Sassafras Field. The victory earned Susquehanna its second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Following the conclusion of the season, four players received All-Landmark Conference recognition.
