My call to service began while growing up in the historic coal region of Schuylkill County, Pa. It is there where I developed great respect for the law enforcement community who I often saw as heroes. These experiences prompted me to become a Pennsylvania State Trooper after finishing a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

During my nearly 29 years with the department, I served in a multitude of roles across the Commonwealth including; Patrol Trooper, Criminal Investigator, Station Commander, Intelligence Division Director, Legislative Affairs Director and Forensic Services Bureau Director.

However, it was my first assignment as a Patrol Trooper at the Selinsgrove Station that set in motion both a professional and personal connection to Susquehanna University. I developed close working relationships with local law enforcement and Public Safety. I also spent many hours with my family on the beautiful campus that was so graciously open to the local community.

I was honored to be selected as the Susquehanna University Director of Public Safety in the fall of 2016. I have found the university a shining example of what a liberal arts education can offer the students of the world, so many of which I’m confident will be the next great generation of leaders. And, I have been nothing short of impressed by the dedication and passion of the faculty and staff who I have come to know and respect.

I was drawn to the Pennsylvania State Police, in no small part, due to its long history and tradition of excellence, service and respect for others. Since 1858, Susquehanna University has built a similar history and tradition. In so many ways, I believe it is a natural fit.
