Purcell works with Susquehanna University students and alumni to support career development through individual appointments and programming. As an adjunct faculty member, she teaches two Introduction to Professional Development courses each academic year. Purcell is also a member of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), and she directs a pre-college summer program for domestic and international high school students at Columbia University.
Purcell received a Master of Education degree in student affairs and counseling from Bloomsburg University, a Master of Arts degree in English literature from UMass-Amherst, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, history and American studies from Georgetown College.
In addition to working in career development, Purcell has experience in residence life, international student services, first-year experience, and leadership development.
