Registering for Courses

The information below provides important steps and guidelines for course registration. Students are provided with information and resources in the weeks leading up to course registration.

Important Registration Reminders

  • Add the dates of your registration window to your calendar and/or planner (registration occurs by class year, and dates are shared with students via email in advance).
  • Answers to common registration questions can be found on the Registration FAQ page on myNest.

Registration Instructions

To access your current course schedule, follow the three steps below:

Step 1: Log on to myNest using your Susquehanna credentials.
Step 2: Select โ€œAcademic Resources.โ€
Step 3: Select โ€œMy Progress.โ€ The current schedule, in calendar form, will appear. To view the schedule in list form, which will contain the instructor’s name and a link to the course description, select โ€œGo to Schedule & Timeline.โ€

Adding a Course

  • Follow steps 1โ€“3 above and select โ€œGo to Schedule & Timeline.โ€
  • Click on โ€œAcademicsโ€ at the top left corner and select โ€œSearch for Sections.โ€
  • Make sure โ€œAdvanced Searchโ€ is selected and choose โ€œSection Listing.โ€
  • Choose the appropriate term and select the subject you would like to search.
  • Click on the orange โ€œAddโ€ button next to any open course you want to add.
  • Section details will appear. Click on the blue โ€œAdd Sectionโ€ button.
  • A โ€œPlannedโ€ indicator will appear next to the course.
  • Click on โ€œAcademicsโ€ and then on โ€œMy Progress.โ€
  • Select โ€œGo to Plan and Schedule.โ€
  • The course(s) you selected will show as โ€œPlannedโ€ in the list and on the calendar schedule (those courses will be a different color than those for which you are registered).
  • To finalize your registration, click the orange โ€œRegister Nowโ€ button on the right, which will register all courses on your plan, or click the orange โ€œRegisterโ€ button listed under the course in the list of courses on the left side to register for courses individually.

The new course will change color on the calendar view, and a โ€œRegistered, but not startedโ€ notice will appear on the course in the list.

If there are any prerequisites or restrictions on the course that prevent registration, an alert will appear at the top right corner of the page.

Dropping a Course

  • Follow steps 1โ€“3 above and select โ€œGo to Schedule & Timeline.โ€
  • Find the course you want to remove from your schedule in the list on the left.
  • Click the orange โ€œDropโ€ button listed under the course.
  • A confirmation screen will appear with a checkmark in front of the course you selected. (You may also select other courses to drop or add from this screen.) Click โ€œUpdateโ€.

You are no longer registered for the course. The โ€œRegistered, but not startedโ€ statement has been replaced with the โ€œPlannedโ€ statement.

Dropped courses may still appear as planned; if you wish to remove them, click the โ€œxโ€ in the top right corner of the planned course.
