Registering for Courses

The information below provides important steps and guidelines for course registration. Students are provided with information and resources in the weeks leading up to course registration.

Important Registration Reminders

  • Add the dates of your registration window to your calendar and/or planner (registration occurs by class year, and dates are shared with students via email in advance).
  • Answers to common registration questions can be found on the Registration FAQ page on myNest.

Registration Instructions

To access your current course schedule, follow the three steps below:

Step 1: Log on to MyNest using your Susquehanna credentials.
Step 2: Select “Academic Resources.”
Step 3: Select “My Progress.” The current schedule, in calendar form, will appear. To view the schedule in list form, which will contain the instructor’s name and a link to the course description, select “Go to Schedule & Timeline.”

Adding a Course

  • Follow steps 1–3 above and select “Go to Schedule & Timeline.”
  • Click on “Academics” at the top left corner and select “Search for Sections.”
  • Make sure “Advanced Search” is selected and choose “Section Listing.”
  • Choose the appropriate term and select the subject you would like to search.
  • Click on the orange “Add” button next to any open course you want to add.
  • Section details will appear. Click on the blue “Add Section” button.
  • A “Planned” indicator will appear next to the course.
  • Click on “Academics” and then on “My Progress.”
  • Select “Go to Plan and Schedule.”
  • The course(s) you selected will show as “Planned” in the list and on the calendar schedule (those courses will be a different color than those for which you are registered).
  • To finalize your registration, click the orange “Register Now” button on the right, which will register all courses on your plan, or click the orange “Register” button listed under the course in the list of courses on the left side to register for courses individually.

The new course will change color on the calendar view, and a “Registered, but not started” notice will appear on the course in the list.

If there are any prerequisites or restrictions on the course that prevent registration, an alert will appear at the top right corner of the page.

Dropping a Course

  • Follow steps 1–3 above and select “Go to Schedule & Timeline.”
  • Find the course you want to remove from your schedule in the list on the left.
  • Click the orange “Drop” button listed under the course.
  • A confirmation screen will appear with a checkmark in front of the course you selected. (You may also select other courses to drop or add from this screen.) Click “Update”.

You are no longer registered for the course. The “Registered, but not started” statement has been replaced with the “Planned” statement.

Dropped courses may still appear as planned; if you wish to remove them, click the “x” in the top right corner of the planned course.
