CHEM-426 The Biochemistry of Proteins and Enzymes

This course focuses on the structure of proteins, the thermodynamics of protein folding, enzyme catalytic mechanisms and enzyme kinetics. This course also introduces the field of bioinformatics, the use of computer databases to determine relationships between nucleic acid sequence, protein structure and protein function. Same as BIOL-426. Prerequisite: CHEM-102 General Chemistry II, CHEM-104 General Chemistry II: Teams or CHEM-232 Structure and Reactivity. 3 SH. 3 lecture hours.
