You are invited to participate in a professional development workshop for faculty focused on interdisciplinary teaching. The workshop is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)-funded project “Promoting Civil Discourse in a Polarized World” at Susquehanna University.
The one-day online workshop will run from 9:30-4:30 on Wednesday, August 12 with an hour-long lunch break. The workshop is open to teams of 2-3 faculty members from different disciplines, with at least one humanities field represented in the team.
The morning will focus on strategies for developing team-taught, interdisciplinary courses, including logistics in gaining administrative approval, listing the course, and recruiting students; developing a syllabi and course content that effectively bridges disciplines; and creating active learning techniques such as project-based learning. The afternoon will ask interdisciplinary teams to develop the foundation for such a course.
Each participant will receive a stipend of $200 for their time.
