An exploration of the power of the American presidency as it has developed over time. Studies presidential authority, the limitations on presidential power and the presidency's impact on public policy in the United States. Explores the interplay between individual presidents and the institution of the presidency. Topics covered include the presidential selection process and the relationship between the president and the Congress, "the bureaucracy" and the courts.
